2025 ASONA Paschal Parish Picnic!

April 27, 2025 By Fr. John Peck [edit]

On Thomas Sunday, the parishioners of ASONA and guests travelled to Gateway Park to celebrate our annual parish picnic. The day was in the low 70’s with an occasional stiff breeze, but the comfort and happiness of the day prevailed. We greeted each other with the Paschal Greeting, “Christ is Risen! Indeed, He is Risen!”, and sang the Paschal Troparion to bless the food. What a feast was provided! And part from this bubbles, tug-of-war, and an ASONA-style Easter Egg Hunt all took place with joy.

See the gallery below for highlights from our picnic.

Grillmaster Jones started the picnic off right.
So much food!
Too many choices
but plenty of seating…
both inside the ramada…
and outside the ramada!

The usual story times
The Brave Egg Hunt men…
…preparing for their doom
And they’re off!
Easter Egg carriers methodically hunted down…

Without mercy!
Without care! Get those eggs!
Thomas was the last Egg man standing
Sophie was one of several kids who treed herself
The tug-of-wars begin
More tug-of-wars

And more tug-of-wars!
Andronik is often surprised!
Ezekiel is not often this calm!
Not sure what this game was…
Fr. Joseph inspects the new sport…
and the many winners!
