What Should I Wear?
Visitors often ask what is appropriate attire.
There is no formal dress code, but we encourage modest, comfortable clothing suitable for Christian worship.

What Should I Expect?
Orthodox worship is unlike most modern church services.
The Divine Liturgy is not a concert or a performance. It is the Church’s ancient worship and celebration of the Holy Trinity and has remained substantially unchanged for many centuries.
First, we won’t ask you to do anything that will make your feel awkward or uncomfortable.
During the service you will experience:

- A sermon rooted in Holy Scripture and the Orthodox Christian faith
The service usually lasts between 90 minutes and two hours.

Is Everyone Welcome?

You do not need to be Orthodox to attend.

What About Holy Communion?
Holy Communion is the fullest expression of unity in the Orthodox Church.
For that reason, Holy Communion is received by baptized Orthodox Christians who have prepared themselves according to the Church’s practice.
If you are visiting, please do not feel uncomfortable remaining in your place during Communion. Many visitors do so, and no one will think anything of it.
If you have questions about the Orthodox understanding of Holy Communion or about becoming Orthodox, our priest will be happy to speak with you after the service.
What About My Children?
Orthodox worship is a family experience, and children learn by participating in the life of the Church alongside their parents.
Do not worry if your child whispers, asks questions, or becomes a little restless. Families are an important part of parish life.
Stay for Coffee Hour
Following the Divine Liturgy, everyone is invited to stay for coffee hour which is always a potluck luncheon.
This is an excellent opportunity to:
- Meet parishioners
- Ask questions about Orthodoxy of the clergy
- Speak with the priest
- Learn more about parish life
- Enjoy fellowship in a relaxed setting

Will someone explain the service?
Our parishioners are happy to answer questions before or after the service, and the priest is always glad to speak with visitors.
Can I leave early if necessary?
Yes. If you need to leave before the service concludes, simply do so quietly and respectfully. Come when you can, leave when you have to.
